Cannondale Quick | Range Review

Cannondale Quick | Range Review

[VidSitePro id=114 ]The Cannondale Quick is a really lightweight
smooth riding flat bar hybrid, that could be used as your commuter or as your bike
to try and get out there and get fitter on. It’s the perfect first road going
bike for someone or for someone that hasn’t ridden a bike in a while. It’s
also very versatile with mud guard and rack mounts meaning that you could ride it to
school or work with no problems taking all the gear that you need. The quick
features Cannondales ultra lightweight aluminium frames, you’ll see the word CAAD
written on all these frames and that stands for Cannondale Advanced Aluminium
Design. Cannondale were the first people to make really high-end mass-market
bikes out of aluminium, and is still the market leader, so you get a super
lightweight, very smooth, very compliant and comfortable and also lifetime
warranty frame. The top four models in the range also get a carbon fork,
reducing the weight even further and giving you a smoother riding front end.
All the graphics that you see on these models are also reflective, so at night
time or in low light conditions, car headlights are going to shine off your
bike. Combine that with a reflective sidewall on most of the tires and you
have a really safe, as well as comfortable and lightweight bike. Other
cool features that you’re going to see on the Cannondale quick include internal
cable routing for a smoother looking and less maintenance requiring ride, as well
as mud guard and rack mounts. This means that you can set your bike up for winter,
you can add child seats, or you can get your shopping, all the stuff you need for
work onto the back of the bike. You’re gonna see two types of braking
system across the quick range, a lightweight rim v brake which acts on
the rim of the wheel giving you the lightest possible bikes that we can make,
and then the more all-round more modern disc equipped bikes. All the discs equipped
bikes use hydraulic discs so there’s no maintenance required, they will stay
set up just as they are when it leaves the bike shop, and you’re gonna get
better smoother more all-weather performance
from the brakes, and if you’re going to be carrying loads or going down steep
hills then this is the best choice for you. At the start of the quick range
you’re going to see triples on the front this refers to having three chain rings
on the front part of the bikes gear system, this is going to give you a
really wide range meaning you can go nice and slow up any kind of Hill that
you come across yet still go nice and fast when the road is flat and smooth.
Towards the higher end of the bikes you’re going to see more Road influenced
double chain sets, like I said these have come across from the road, and are
going to give you a higher top speed and a lighter all-around package. The quick two
is a bit different in then it uses a 1 by 11 system. This new modern system does
away with the front shifter and gives you a really clean, simple and
hard-wearing gear set, more from the mountain bike influence. All the quick range uses 700c wheels, the
same size as a road bike, this means you get a really fast, really efficient, but
still lightweight wheel set. The tires we’re using are 35c and 30c depending on
the spec, which is much wider than you find a road bike, which means you’re
going to have a smoother, comfortable ride. From the quick five upwards you’ll
also see reflective sidewalls included in the tire spec, this means that when a
car headlight shines on the wheels they’re going to shine up really bright,
giving an extra safety feature. All the hubs on the quicks are also sealed units,
meaning that they’re going to run smoother, and stay fresh and fast rolling
for longer whatever the weather. If you’re new to riding and don’t really
care about all the tech stuff that we talked about in this video, the three
main things that you probably do care about are the bike being really light,
which we can achieve with our ultra lightweight Cannondale aluminium, the bike
being really comfy, which we can give you through the use of really high spec
saddles, grips and wide tires, and thre bike also being really safe, and we
can give you that with the reflective sidewalls and reflective graphics that
you see on all the quicks. If you like the sound of Cannondales quick, the
flat bar super fast commuter all-rounder bike, but your ambitions take you a
little bit further off-road, on to Canal towpaths or light forest tracks, then the
Quick CX might be for you. Featuring a bigger 38C tire with a bit more tread
on it, and a short travel 50mm fork, this makes it much more of an
all-rounder, more suitable for those more rough roads
