  • Fortunately I replaced my 10+ yr old helmet with this strong lightweight helmet a few months ago to go go on a 100 mile ride without incident but two weeks ago crashed when I stood up to get increased speed and my shoe clip slipped off the pedal and my handlebars jerked to the right at 20+ mph and I was thrown off sustaining a right clavicle, scapular and 3rd rib fractures….wow what pain…but no head injury due to this helmet…no concussion…helmet intact! • My wife said she did not need a helmet, that it looked silly and felt weird. I convinced her to wear the Airflow anyway. Well on her first ride with it she crashed and her head bounced off the ground…no head damage, but numerous abrasions on her leg. Do you have a helmet for the rest of the body?By Nemo
  • I am an avid mountain biker and at 34 suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. I had to park the bike for 2 summers. Now that I’m back in the swing of things I started researching helmets and impact ratings. This helmet for the price is amazing. It fits great and is fully adjustable. Looks sporty with a removable visor and the airflow is great as well. After searching and finding helmets for $80+ the reviews on this one are great and so is the price for the impact rating. Customer service is also A+. I highly recommend this product for anyone and especially if you have suffered a head injury. Worth the money.        Read more By Peter Gutwein III See all customer reviews

  • A couple days ago I was in a collision (car turned through the bike lane without looking) while wearing this helmet. The helmet got destroyed in the crash, which is is job. Thankfully, my head did not. This helmet turned what could have been a fatal or much more serious collision into an inconvenience.By Andrew
  • My son, 9, had outgrown his old helmet, so I bought this one. Less than three weeks later, he put it to the test. He is a daredevil who loves speed. Riding down a hill, that he isn’t supposed to ride on, he lost control at ~30 mph and landed on the side of his head, on the asphalt. He was knocked out momentarily, but passed the concussion screening at the ER. He is fine, other than some road rash. I hate to think how he might have fared with his old helmet, or no helmet. The ER doctor said that the spot he hit was about the worst place to hit for head injuries. Don’t skimp on safety equipment, ever, especially for kids. I am ordering this exact same helmet as a replacement. The helmet held up so well I couldn’t initially tell where he hit his head. There was        Read more By Christy
  • This possibly saved my life, or at least my brain. I was biking when a car made an illegal U-turn on a residential street and hit my bike, which turned the handlebar into my clavicle, fracturing it (got surgery to put a metal plate in). I recall flying off the bike and hearing a loud thwack as my head hit the street. Without the helmet, I would have been very screwed. I can barely tell the damage from the crash (not sure if any damage is from the crash or just regular wear-and-tear), but since I won’t wear a helmet that I was wearing in an accident and that hit the ground loudly, I am replacing it. I’m probably going to buy this same helmet again as soon as the driver’s auto insurance company says that they’ll cover the cost of a new helmet. • This helmet saved my life! I am an adult, but have a narrow head and find most standard adult size helmets wobble side to side on me, so I have bought women’s and older kids helmets before and they work well. This one fit like a treat on my bare head, snug all around like it is supposed to be to maximize safety. The first day I wore it, I was hit by a car crossing through an intersection on my bicycle. The car ran the red light and hit me full on. Most of my injuries were to my legs, shoulder and bad whiplash, but no head trauma. (I’m ok, but my bike was totaled). After I was released from hospital and got home, I got the chance to examine my helmet and to my surprise there was a huge dent in it and scratches going in multiple directions… and        Read more By G-man
  • Bought this for my son 8 yr he said he felt cool and our neighbor whose son 11years old NEVER wears one but it looks like his mom went out to buy him one . And now I always see him with a helmet! Thumbs upBy Momamused
  • Another winner for my grandson! Went to visit and found his bicycle helmet severely damaged. Jumped on to Amazon and found the helmet he described to me and had it sent to him. Now I can sleep knowing he has the best protection for riding his bicycle.By Kindle Customer See all customer reviews

  • This helmet saved my life. I was going 28 MPH in a criterium when someone ran into me and forced me to go over the handlebars and hit my head and shoulder. Helmet cracked and absorbed most of the impact. In Arizona, there is no law against not wearing helmets but that is crazy, protect your head!.I just ordered a replacement helmet.By TrekandTech
  • Fantastic Helmet for the Price! I have a big head with fluffy hair. This helmet is not only comfortable, but the color helps with visibility during my commute. The padding is incredibly nice, as it is all over the inside of the helmet, and with my fluffy hair, none of the velcro is showing, which is paramount, or the helmet would not work for me. After riding for just a little bit, I did not even notice I was wearing the helmet, it was that comfortable. I highly recommend this helmet if you are looking for something to ride your bike, and like me, you are just figuring out what works for you, and want to be seen. The lime color is bright, and the other drivers WILL see you… which is perfect, by the way. Thank you, GoMax, and Amazon for providing        Read more By Mary Turcotte
  • I ordered a Medium size helmet and was disappointed when a Large showed up. So tried it on anyway, and it fit perfect. I have a 22 inch skull so am right between their size chart. I love this helmet, its bright enough for traffic visibility though it could probably be a little brighter, not as fluorescent as I was hoping. The entire inside has padding, so its really comfortable, my Bell helmet hurts my head because its not padded and irritates my bald head. The visor is a little weird with holes you can see thru, I may glue some felt under that but its no big deal. The back of the helmet has room enough to put an LED flasher back there if you velcro it on, which I did as I right at dusk alot and try to be super visible on my recumbent trike. • This is my first cycling helmet and I did a lot of research before choosing this one. This turned out to be an excellent choice. The helmet feels quite light(262 grams), and is very comfortable. My head measured 58 cm and the medium fit very well. I am a male with very long hair and I was able to tie it in a low ponytail with this helmet, so this would probably be good for females as well. The ventilation is pretty good, after a twenty mile ride my hair was completely dry, just a little bit of sweat on my forehead. I have always been reluctant to get a helmet because most of the ones I saw were bulky and strange looking, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good this one looked when I put it on. • As others have noted, the strap design is truly terrible. So here is a really quick simple way to fix it: Reroute the back strap so that it does not wrap around the plastic arms on the sides. The reason the straps lie perpendicular to the head is because they angle themselves around those plastic arms. By removing that angle, the straps are still not perfectly flat against my face, but significantly better. I’ll post an image as demonstration As for the rest of the helmet, it’s definitely better than the cheap helmets I have owned in the past in terms of weight and airflow, though I don’t have much to compare it against.        Read more By peterc
  • Giro Savant helmet Let me say first that I’ve used a Bell Image helmet for decades, so that is my only basis for comparison. I purchased the Giro Savant in a medium size based on the Giro sizing chart and it fits well and comfortably, even though I’m near the small end of the range for that size. The knob-adjustable head strap is a distinct improvement over the Bell and helps to hold the helmet securely on the head. The chin strap arrangement seems to follow modern practice, but is not nearly as elegant as the old Bell, whose straps lay flush with the sides of the head, and had an elegantly simple snap closure under one ear. The Giro’s straps twist as they pass through the fitting below the ear on each side and therefore are not completely flush with the sides of the head, although        Read more By Michaux See all customer reviews

  • Pretty comfortable yet secure fit for my big noggin. Easy to adjust. *Meets bicylce (CPSC), BMX (ASTM F-2032) and skating (ASTM F1492) safety standards. Looking forward to riding with it. Will update if any problems…but none out of the box. *Does NOT meet downhill MB standard, you need a face-plate for that. I DID NOT RECEIVE A DISCOUNT FROM ANYONE FOR THIS REVIEW; HOWEVER, BELL IF YOU’RE OUT THERE AND YOU WANT TO GIVE ME SOME MONEY I’M DOWN WITH THAT!!!        Read more By Jersey Devil
  • UPDATED REVIEW: I give it FIVE stars now! Size Medium was TOO SMALL!! I measured my noggin at 22 inches at the largest part. The sizing chart called for a medium but I’m returning it for a large. Update: large is in, fits perfect with larger inserts – Kryptonite color can be seen from SPACE, looks great with the matching Specialized bike (sold separately). NOTE: the Matte Grey/Green is a Matte grey HELMET with a Green chinstrap. Video review attached of what it looks like in REAL LIFE in direct sunlight – feels like it would protect from a decent spill, many of which I intend on having … but off road only!        Read more By Armand5000
  • I bought Bell Segment helmets for my whole family. Being the more accident-prone of us I was the first to demonstrate its quality when I was hit by a car. It was too fast for me to register what happened but the witnesses stated I was flipped over the car and landed head first on the back of my head before rolling to a stop. I do remember the impact of my head on the ground and thinking to myself “Well, this is going to be bad”. My helmet is ruined (the inner foam liner is very broken) but I am not. I definitely recommend this helmet        Read more By j_Geek See all customer reviews
